COLLABORATIVE LAW
Collaborative Law is when both parties to a divorce retain lawyers who then enter into a "Participation Agreement" precluding either attorney to represent the party should this matter escalate to court. In this model both attorneys and both parties negotiate and present perspectives until an agreement in reached. This model is very useful in instances where divorce mediation proved ineffective or was not a viable option ( ie. if there was a history of violence ).
